am,is,are是"be"的不同人称使用的形式.
用于第一人称, I am ......(我是.......)
用于第三人称, He is ......(他是......) 或She is ......(她是......), It is ......(它是.......)
e 用于第二人称, You are ......(你是......,你们是......).也可用于第一人称和第三人称的复数情况, We are ......(我们是.....);They are .....(他们是.....).
上面"1,2"是单数形式,"3"是第二人称单数和复数共同的形式.在时态上则三者都是"现在时".
is,are 还可用在"there be "结构中,具体形式是:there is .......和there are .......
